story telling has always been the centre of humanity, be it recording history, passing on culture, science and so many things for the coming generation to inherit and build upon.                                      i try it with  photgraphy

i am fortunate that photography is a hobby i can afford, and not my profession. i always believe that your passion should never be your profession, as sooner or later the commercial pressures do win over your creative freedom

i picked up photography during my travels to my ancestral home, and also work travel. i was also surrounded by some brilliant friends who were very good photographers and contributed to my style. while my only inspiration remains Peter Lindbergh, from whom i draw my style for un-edited black and white imagery, my dear friend Bharat Bhirangi, did teach me some tricks, especially during our trip to Leh in 2014. I travelled with a single 50mm Lens on a crop sensor, and it was here i discovered the joy of shooting the wild colors of the sky and landscapes

in Black & White

and ever since, I have never felt the need to shoot anything in color

We lost Bharat to cancer a couple of years ago, but then a Photographer lives on

i often consider myself, luckier than most. first, to be born in a vibrant country like india,

and second to be born into a family rich in culture, traditions and faith.

all this has shaped the way i see the world, in it's colorful, yet imperfectly true life.

my photography is mostly devoid of colors, and definitely devoid of post process editing or ai,

to make it look anything than it truly is.
